Faucet Joins Museum Exhibition

Watermark Designs’ Brooklyn faucet has been selected for the “Made in New York” installation at the Museum of the City of New York’s South Street Seaport Museum as part of its re-opening. A total of 16 galleries will open depicting the interweaving of the city through photography, video, historic artifacts and contemporary objects that have been designed and made in New York.

“The rebirth of the South Street Seaport Museum is a major cultural moment for New York, and we are proud to showcase the work of so many talented artists and designers in Brooklyn,” said Donald Albrecht, the Museum of the City of New York’s curator of architecture and design. “The Brooklyn faucet exemplifies the work of New York’s creative community and the dynamic design-manufacture industries that are flourishing here.”

Designed in collaboration with Incorporated Architecture & Design, Watermark Designs’ Brooklyn faucet is manufactured entirely in Brooklyn. Inspired by mid-century gate valves and garden hoses found throughout New York City, the faucet celebrates the borough for which it is named.

“One of the greatest accomplishments a bath manufacturer can achieve is having a faucet collection live on as an expression of art,” said Avi Abel, president of Watermark Designs. “We can now claim what we knew all along about the Brooklyn faucet: it is not simply a product that celebrates one of America’s greatest cities…it is also a timeless piece of art.”
