Fixr.com has released its annual Outdoor Living Trends report, based on responses of 200 top experts in the home construction industry, including architects, home builders, home remodelers and landscaping specialists.
Adam Graham, the report author and industry analyst at Fixr.com, tells KBB, “In this year’s report, indoor-outdoor living remains the number one trend. However, people are not just opening their interior spaces to the exterior. They are now taking outdoor spaces more seriously and consciously creating seamless continuity of indoor-outdoor design.
“A couple of surprising stats to come out of this year’s survey include the overwhelming majority of experts who say that outdoor living areas have a big impact on home value, stressing the growing demand for these spaces,” Graham said. “Also, trends seem to be focusing more on the aspects that make life easier, with experts saying homeowners want more multi-functional spaces and easy-to-maintain furniture, as opposed to only popular design pieces.”
