Inspired by Jackson Pollock, Americh introduces the textured tub, intended to help designers create a bath that makes a statement. Of the many new trends designers are talking about, adding textures is one that seems to be taking center stage, but achieving a textured look is both an art and science. Americh’s in-house artist creates a Pollock-like design of textures on the brand’s solid surface bathtubs. He works on a “controlled splatter” of resin that is then smoothed so that the texture adheres well to the tub and can’t be knocked off.
Finished by hand, each piece is unique, and after the tub itself is crafted, the texture takes three to four more days to perfect. The result is a subtle, cool piece of art for the bathroom.
