Whirlpool

Don't sit around waiting for your water to boil.

Don’t sit around waiting for your water to boil. Whirlpool introduces its induction cooktop, which uses electromagnetic energy to generate instant heat to only the cookware touching its surface. The unit can boil water up to 52 percent faster when using the Boost element. The induction technology transfers up to 90 percent of energy directly to magnetic cookware, using 25 percent less energy than traditional ceramic-glass cooktops and 58 percent less energy than gas cooktops. This savings could power a 60W light bulb for 7 hours with the energy saved every time water is boiled. The cooktop (model GCI3061XB) retails for $1,349.
