British lighting manufacturer Original BTC has launched a new color for their beloved Quad Pendant: Olive Green. Presented for the first time in a colored finish, the versatile soft green shade was chosen to inject color into the classic range.
A brighter alternative to the fixture’s existing weathered brass finish, the powder-coated Olive Quad retains its architectural silhouette and aesthetic, with the addition of polished brass metalwork for an extra visual lift. With roots dating back to the shipyards of 19th century London, today the fixtures are soldered and glazed by hand at the Original BTC Group’s Oxfordshire factory, with the same attention to detail required for their original industrial purpose.
The olive pendant joins the Quad family whose previous iterations include weathered brass, polished brass, satin nickel, and polished nickel finishes. The pendant is available in three sizes: small, medium, and large, which retail for $925, $1,249, and $1,699 respectively.
Established in 1990 by Peter Bowles, Original BTC began life as an Oxford-based home lighting brand and has secured two further lighting brands; heritage marine lighting manufacturer Davey Lighting and LED lighting manufacturer Beadlight, under its umbrella. Exports account for 50% of the production, supplying both the retail and contract markets around the world with an emphasis on the hotel, restaurant, and aeronautical industries. With a family history steeped in retail, manufacturing, and design, Peter designs the company’s products in conjunction with his son Charlie who became Director in 2012. Quality, detail, and an interesting mix of materials are integral to each brand’s designs. From using centuries old techniques to the very latest technology, all lights are handmade and manufactured in the UK.
