Lanserring has launched a pickling cabinet as a response to a growing international appetite to manage eating, understanding of the provenance of diet and a keen interest in preserving food in traditional ways. The new cabinet demonstrates the brand’s ability to interpret a highly bespoke brief. This piece of furniture has been developed with the process of pickling and preserving food in mind, as well as bespoke storage for the food to be displayed in. The historic benefits of eating preserved and fermented foods has been well documented in several global cultures, and this cabinet, while being practical, is like a celebration of these practices expressed through the languages of custom furniture design.
Lanserring was also inspired by the fact that pickled and fermented foods need the crucial ingredient of time to become excellent, like an antique. In the same way, Lanserring’s furniture is crafted to last a lifetime rather than simply be a trend lead disposable item. The pickling cabinet is made from hand-oiled American walnut and patinated brass.
