Principle Faucets, the California-based DTC brand, has developed a faucet system that works with a foot pedal. Similar to a gas pedal, it allows users to enjoy a truly hands-free experience at the faucet while staying cleaner, working faster and minimizing water waste by up to 44%.
The brand was founded when Matt and Lauren Wall were looking for ways to conserve water in a drought. With the help of a friend, they realized adding a foot pedal would potentially eliminate water wasted when letting the tap continuously run between tasks like washing dishes. Through trial and error, the trio developed two systems – The Step, which can be integrated with nearly all faucets, and Principle System, which are available in various finishes and styles.
