Drummonds Stour and Dee Bathtubs

Building on the success of the much-loved Newton bath, Drummonds is delighted to unveil two new cast iron designs — the Stour and the Dee. Each one captures the sculptural essence of the Newton while offering fresh proportions to suit a wider variety of interiors.

The Newton, celebrated for its sculptural curves and distinctive oversized bun feet, has become a signature piece for Drummonds — blending the strength and durability of cast iron with the softer elegance of mid-century Scandinavian forms. Generously rounded at the base, the bath’s body is subtly fluted to a broad rolled edge at the top, with proportions that feel ergonomic and organic.

Now, the Newton’s unmistakable silhouette evolves into two fresh iterations, each thoughtfully designed to suit different spaces and lifestyles. The Dee (pictured above) is a compact evolution of the Newton, maintaining the same visual language and exceptional quality, but at a scale better suited to smaller spaces. With carefully refined proportions and reimagined bun feet to complement its size, the Dee is ideal for city bathrooms, loft conversions and townhouse en-suites.

At the other end of the spectrum, the Stour takes the Newton’s design DNA and scales it up into a generously deep and wide tub — perfect for those who enjoy a truly immersive soak. With a more enveloping shape and ample proportions, it is particularly well-suited to larger family bathrooms or master suites where statement and comfort go hand in hand.

As with all Drummonds’ baths, the Stour and Dee are handcrafted using time-honored techniques in the brand’s own foundry – the only one in the world with dedicated production for cast iron, brass and ceramic. Each bath is cast in hand-poured molten iron and then enamelled using a dry-frit technique that fuses the interior with the body in the furnace for superior durability. The exteriors are then polished for several days using processes borrowed from the world of high-performance automotive engineering, ensuring a flawless, enduring finish.

As ever, the names of the baths are drawn from nature — Stour and Dee are rivers in the UK, chosen to echo the flowing, organic lines of the designs themselves. They reflect Drummonds’ enduring reverence for place and tradition, as well as its commitment to craftsmanship and timeless innovation.
