Aimee LaCalle has launched its first ceramic tile line.

Santa Fe-based design studio Aimee LaCalle has launched its first ceramic tile line. Drawn from three of the studio’s favorite locations – San Miguel de Allende, Santa Fe and France’s Dordogne Valley – the tile line’s original designs are available in 24 prints, as well as solids, to coordinate with existing fabric by the yard designs.

The company’s new tiles, available in two sizes — 6 by 6 and 8 by 8 inches — are created through dry pressing, which produces uniformity and durability due to low water absorption and high density, making them appropriate for additional uses. Dry pressing condenses the tile and creates an exact cut, resulting in regularity across height and joint spacing.

Aimee LaCalle’s design team travels internationally, scouting locations and gathering inspiration, then returns to the studio to create collections of high-quality textiles — including fabric, bedding, tableware, wallpaper, and now, tile — with designs that capture the essence of each location. The studio uses a digitally engineered design process popularized by the apparel industry that results in defined images and uninterrupted patterns.
