Plain & Fancy Opens Chicago Showroom

Published: October 18, 2011

Plain & Fancy Custom Cabinetry recently opened a stand-alone showroom in Chicago. The new space called Plain & Fancy by Dandamudi’s, is more than 2,080-sq.-ft. and will occupy Suite 142 at LuxeHome in the Merchandise Mart.

“We have been furnishing some of the most discriminating homes in the area for over 15 years and have enjoyed a long relationship with Plain & Fancy.  We are excited to bring them to LuxeHome at the Merchandise Mart and we’re proud to offer our clientele luxury custom cabinetry that’s made in America,” said Sarita Dandamudi, owner of Plain & Fancy by Dandamudi’s.

Plain & Fancy was founded by John Achey over 45 years ago. His hobby was handcrafting cabinets and in 1968, his “hobby” turned into a career when together with his wife and children, Achey began building cabinetry in his Richland, PA, garage. The company was named for the cabinets they made: plain ones and fancy ones.
