Learn to Design in Concrete

Published: March 5, 2012

Learn how to create in concrete with The Concrete Countertop Institute’s 3-day class, “Water, Light & Fire: Advanced 3-Dimensional Concrete.” Participants will receive instruction on how to make fireplaces, fire pits, furniture and desks, lighting effects, basic fabric forming, water features and fountains, integral sinks, vessel sinks, ramp sinks, rubber mold making, drainboards and showers. The class will be held on April 18-20, 2012 near Chicago.

Over the duration of the class, students will create three different projects and receive detailed handouts with information about water pumps, fire burner safety, waterproofing for showers and rubber mold making.

“So many concrete countertop professionals are incredibly creative and want to reach new markets with three-dimensional projects such as fire pits and water features, but they lack the knowledge and confidence to step up to the next level and actually execute these complex projects,” said Jeff Girard, president of The Concrete Countertop Institute. “This class will give them that knowledge and confidence. Students will not only create some super-cool projects, but also truly understand what’s going on behind the scenes so that they are confident there won’t be any problems. As always with CCI classes, they will learn not just how, but why.”

The class is limited to 12 students. Students must have experience in Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete (GFRC) or attend the GFRC 101 class on the preceding two days. Further details about the class and registration are available here or by contacting [email protected] or 888-386-7711.
