Well, another successful High Point Market is in the books! This fall’s event delivered all the excitement and inspiration anyone could ask for. In addition, the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) made its debut at Market. As an interior designer specializing in kitchen and bath design, I’m thrilled to share my top finds from the market. Here’s a look at top designs inspiring kitchen and bath in 2025
Top Color of the Season: Cinnamon
Cinnamon was the show’s color darling, setting a warm, rich tone perfect for 2025. This earthy shade brings a quiet luxury and sophistication to any space. This warm color is ideal for kitchens, bathrooms, and beyond. I love pairing cinnamon with neutral tones like Benjamin Moore’s Pale Oak. Add a hint of gold or bronze to bring out its warmth and depth. From fabrics to accessories, this color’s appeal will carry it well into the coming year, making it a go-to choice for stylish, transformative spaces.
Other colors to watch: Shades of purple and cinnamon were prominent in accessories, making their mark on tablescapes and decor. These tones will be influential in setting a cozy, elegant atmosphere.
Material Trends: Leather & Fabric
High Point was all about materials and the showrooms mixed leather and fabric in so many ways. Whether used as accents on chair backs or combined in sofa designs, this pairing is more than a trend. Mixing material is a fresh way to add texture and character to spaces. While mid-century modern continues to influence design, we’re seeing a gradual shift towards softer, more traditional elements. Blending materials, textures, and styles creates a layered, luxurious look that feels both Thymeless and modern. In the kitchen and bath, these materials bring warmth and style, adding sophistication to cabinetry and millwork.
The Rise of Kitchen & Bath Design in Home Interiors
The NKBA made its debut at High Point, placing the spotlight on kitchen and bath design. I was honored to participate in a panel at The Tent, sponsored by Signature Kitchen Suite. We discussed how kitchen design increasingly influences the rest of the home. From innovative appliances to statement hardware, kitchen and bath spaces are evolving into style statements, showcasing a balance of beauty and functionality. This focus on kitchen and bath design as key elements of home decor is a trend that will continue to grow.
Mixed Media: Metal Glass & Wood
Blending materials is a trend that’s making waves across interior design, especially in the kitchen and bath. From metal, glass, and wood combinations to decorative plaster hoods, the emphasis is on mixing creativity and texture. Imagine a soft bronze metal cabinet door paired with a boldly painted cabinet – these are some design details we’re moving toward in 2025. Check out my previous blog post on Wood Hoods as a Hot Kitchen Trend for more ideas on how decorative hoods are making a comeback.
Designs Inspiring Kitchens & Baths: Vintage & Antiques
Kitchens are the heart of the home and where friends and family gather and banquet seating is gathering a following. Vintage and antique pieces always bring character and sustainability and are design trends for kitchen and bath design in 2025. I was so happy to find a new space for treasure hunting. 313 Space is a new favorite for vintage inspiration, showcasing pieces that blend seamlessly with modern kitchen styles. If you followed my Round Top Round Up post, you know how much I love antiques, and I’m thrilled to see this trend grow in kitchen design.
Lighting: Bigger, Bolder & Beautifully Crafted
Lighting continues to be a statement element, with oversized fixtures bringing drama and style to kitchens and living spaces. Beacon Lighting had stunning new options, and Hubbardton Forge’s inventive flexible lighting system was a standout, using modular lighted disks that can be arranged in countless ways. Currey & Co and Regina Andrew also wowed with beautiful displays, while Ro Sham Beaux, a recent discovery of mine, showcased beaded and stone-adorned fixtures that add a touch of artistry to any room.
Designs Inspiring Kitchens & Baths: Ready-To-Wear Style for Bathrooms
Several brands debuted new lines of vanity cabinets, expanding into the growing reach of bathroom design. Currey & Co. introduced a lovely collection that pairs beautifully with their sconce and mirror designs, while unique hardware added a distinctive touch. As interior design integrates more into kitchen and bath spaces, we’ll likely see more functional yet stylish vanity pieces in the market.
Artful & Functional Decor: Adding Art to Kitchens & Baths
Kitchens and bathrooms are often overlooked when it comes to art, but High Point Market showed how functional decor can elevate these spaces. I believe every room in the home deserves to be adorned with art. Splashworks offers an innovative approach, blending art printed on acoustic material. This is perfect for spaces where acoustics are often a challenge. From custom-printed, moisture-resistant artwork to sound-softening materials, these pieces make it possible to add beauty and functionality to any room. For clients with home offices or media rooms, acoustic panels offer a stylish solution for noise control.
Design Legacy brought a sense of fun and fantasy to High Point with whimsical accents and vibrant color schemes. From the original art of Kelly O’Neill to textiles and decor that make a bold statement, this showroom reminded me that home design doesn’t have to be too serious. These lively pieces are perfect for adding a touch of personality to kitchens, bathrooms, or any room in your home.
For larger spaces: Acoustic materials with colorful designs bring style turning any room into a personal retreat for work or relaxation.
Setting the Stage for What’s Next
High Point Market continues to set the stage for what’s next in home design, and this year was no exception. From inspiring color trends to innovative uses of materials and textures, there was something for every designer and client. Whether planning a kitchen remodel, a bathroom upgrade, or a full home makeover, these trends offer fresh ideas to elevate any project.
Thank you for following my journey through High Point! I’m excited to share these designs inspiring the kitchen and bath for 2025. I hope you are inspired, too.
