A new trade fair for premium interior design will be launched in autumn 2025 with the inaugural edition of idd cologne. Parallel to the trade fair, an accompanying urban event programme, idd cologne downtown, will invite visitors to experience design across the entire city of Cologne from 26 to 29 October. More than 25 partners – ranging from established furniture stores and showrooms to creative pop-ups and design boutiques – have already signed up for the initiative, which is set to transform Cologne into a buzzing design destination.
idd cologne is positioned as an exclusive platform for the residential, hospitality and contract segments of the interior design market. Centred around its key theme, Shaping Homes & Hospitality, the new trade fair is an invitation to rediscover interiors in private residences and commercial spaces as holistic design concepts. And this is the idea that idd cologne downtown picks up on: The new format is designed to strategically expand idd cologne, taking it beyond the trade fair grounds and into the city. Cologne will be transformed into a stage for design experiences and stimulating conversations.
