As part of the 2022-2023 Kitchen Design Contest, more than 1,600 completed entries were submitted from 11 countries and 44 states, with an impressive 57% submitted by first-time entrants. A mix of traditional, contemporary, and transitional design styles were represented across the submissions, with transitional emerging as the most popular design category, accounting for over 40% of submissions.

Andy Garcia, senior marketing manager for Sub-Zero Group, tells KBB, “The diverse array of entries is truly remarkable. From the timeless elegance of traditional designs, to the sleek modernity of contemporary styles, and the harmonious balance found in transitional aesthetics, each entry speaks volumes about the creativity and innovation within the design community. We’re honored to witness such a breathtaking showcase of talent and look forward to celebrating the winners who exemplify excellence in kitchen design.”

“The Kitchen Design Contest holds an incredible importance in the design world and continues to set the standard of excellence for recognizing innovation and talent in kitchen design,” remarked judge Mark Stumer. “With thousands of submissions and a rigorous judging process, each entry is meticulously evaluated to ensure that only the best designs rise to the top and their creativity is celebrated.”

All Finalists and the Student Winner will receive a trip for two to attend the Winners’ Summit and Gala, held from October 13-16, 2024, at the Breakers Resort in Palm Beach, Florida. The Summit offers the design professionals an opportunity to come together and celebrate their achievements. The 13 Global Winners will be announced at the Gala honoring their accomplishments in design across the following categories: first-, second- and third-place in each of the Contemporary, Transitional and Traditional design categories, First-Time Entrant, Small Space Kitchen, and Best Use Outside of Kitchen. The previously announced Student Winner will also be recognized.

Eligibility for the contest required that all design and construction be fully completed within the contest period of January 1, 2022, through December 31, 2023. Both indoor and outdoor kitchen design submissions required specific criteria to ensure a diverse range of entries.
