Published: May 19, 2023

Lauren Rottet, FAIA, FIIDA, internationally celebrated architect, designer and founding principal/president and owner of Rottet Studio, presents “The Beauty of Black and White,” a salon-style exhibition highlighting art and furniture, in her new 3,000 sq.-ft. showroom located at 29 West 30th Street, May 20-25.

During the past two decades, Rottet has expanded her practice, including the launch of a new showroom, where she’s showcasing the award-winning Rottet Collection furniture line. New furniture designs will be juxtaposed with pieces curated by Rottet showcasing her passion for art and design and presented in graphic black and white.

On display will be select art from the Loretta Howard Gallery including prints and paintings by Al Held, Joseph Albers, Larry Poons, George Sugarman, Nicolas Carone, Robert Motherwell along with work from Carolina Nitsch Gallery by Alyson Shotz.

Framed pieces made from recycled materials by artist and weaver Suzanne Tick will be interspersed with Damien Hirst’s Brainwash Narcissist Spin Chair, Gio Ponti’s Triposto Bench and Marcel Wander’s Garden of Eden Chair. The selection process of matching unlikely pieces is included in Rottet’s design practice and highlights her signature oeuvre.
