Bristan Group Releases New ESG Report

Published: October 22, 2023

The UK’s market leader for taps and showers, Bristan Group, has today released its first Environmental, Social and Governance report outlining the organisation’s ongoing commitments to a series of sustainability initiatives.

The group, which is a trusted manufacturer of high-quality, water-efficient products, has announced plans to reduce the organisation’s carbon footprint, maintain its status as a zero-to-landfill company and decrease the level of water usage across the UK.

In line with its commitments to reducing water usage and the waste of water, Bristan Group shares details of its comprehensive portfolio of energy and water-saving products. This includes the group’s industry-leading innovations, such as pre-fitted flow emitters to manage the flow of water, infrared taps that automatically turn off when not in use, and eco-start technology which reduces boiler usage when using taps. Plus, 90% of the water used during endurance testing and development of Bristan Group’s water-efficient product is recycled through its UKAS-accredited lab.

As a zero-to-landfill company, Bristan Group also has extensive measures in place to ensure that the 295 tons of waste produced each year are recycled, reused or repurposed. These measures extend from the transit packaging of products that is made from recycled materials, to the 137 tons of waste cardboard from warehouse operations, which is recycled into new cardboard, and much more.

In fact, the award-winning operations center will soon have solar panels at its head office in Tamworth, Staffordshire, which is expected to generate 600kw/hour of electricity to support business operations and will equate to a CO2 saving of 143,003 kgs per annum.

Bristan Group’s products are a top choice among merchants and installers, with Bristan taps and showers fitted in one in five British homes, thanks to its rigorous testing, reliable guarantees, and compliance with key regulations.

With clear roadmap of sustainability initiatives behind them, Bristan Group’s products can be bought with confidence and trusted to help reduce the UK’s overall carbon footprint – one tap or shower at a time.

Bristan Group’s ambitions form part of a wider focus on sustainability across Masco Corporation, of which the group is part.

Speaking about the group’s plans, Keith Allman, president and CEO at Masco, said, “As a global leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of branded home improvement and building products, we believe in and continuously strive to deliver better living possibilities – for our homes, our environment and our community. Motivated by the prospect of a better world, we strive to maintain high standards of excellence, accountability and leadership.”
