As an important first step in bringing its new brand experience to the world, Poggenpohl reopened its fully renovated Munich Studio last month. The event will be followed by the first dealer-owned studio to launch with the brand’s new retail concept.
In the middle of the Herford, Germany, city center, on Maximiliansplatz, the Poggenpohl flagship store presents modern luxury kitchens. In keeping with the new brand image, the kitchens are surrounded by an inspiring, homelike space to provide a full living experience. At the new story, the kitchen becomes a place for openness, diversity and development – a favorite place instead of just a workplace.
The Maximiliansplatz store, first opened in 2002 and managed independently since 2009, has now undergone an elaborate redesign during a six-week period. Now, large, arched windows flood the 230-sq.-m. space with daylight. Eye-catchers under high ceilings are +VENOVO, +SEGMENTO and +MODO – three highlights from the Poggenpohl collection.
Their color palette ranges from white, high-gloss varnish to surfaces in matte pebble gray and dark oak with a material mix of wood, natural stone and glass. Two functional kitchens, a black PlantCube from agrilution and an urban garden add to the offerings. In addition to the showroom kitchens, the flagship store includes a cozy lounge area, custom-made consultation tables and a video wall. It is the first one in Germany and the second one after Milan to stand for Poggenpohl’s new brand image. This customer-focused strategy will be staged at other stores worldwide over the next few years.
The new Poggenpohl dealer Duggan, located at Prinzregentenplatz 11, combines Art Nouveau elements on the façade with timeless interior design. The 350-sq.-m. space is located diagonally opposite the Prinzregenten Theatre in the upmarket Bogenhausen district. Poggenpohl was chosen as a partner for several reasons: the careful processing of first-class materials, perfect ergonomics and functionality, according to Mark Duggan, who has 25 years of expertise in kitchens.
“We know that the kitchen is the heart of a home: a meeting place for family and friends to enjoy the space together, find new inspiration and really feel at home,” said Duggan. “Our goal is to design this living space perfectly with and for our customers.”
