Porcelanosa has opened its Architecture & Interior Design Awards to U.S. architects and designers. Created in 2006, the competition acknowledges and encourages new and future professionals within the industry.
Projects using only Porcelanosa materials can be entered in the competition. Applicants can either create the layout and design of a fictional restaurant, or they can submit a project completed between January 2011 and February 2013. Projects will be judged on originality, functionality and creativity.
“The contest represents Porcelanosa’s commitment to innovation and development in the fields of architecture and interior design,” said Santiago Manent, East Coast sales director for Porcelanosa. “Architects and interior designers play an invaluable role in every project, and we want to acknowledge them for their contributions through this competition.”
Winners of the U.S. preliminary competition will receive an all-expense paid trip to Spain, where they will compete with the international finalists in Madrid on May 30th. Winners will receive a prize package that includes a spread in Porcelanosa’s Lifestyle magazine, representation on Porcelanosa’s website and a trip to the Porcelanosa’s headquarters in Vila-real, Castellón.
The deadline to submit projects is April 1. For additional information and contest rules, click here.
