Ann Sacks introduced the Viana Collection, a series of hand-clipped marble mosaics rendered from three distinctive stones. The collection is inspired by the renowned medieval architecture and famed 14th-century towers’ hand-laid brick facades that grace the landscape of Viana, a historic village nestled in southern France.
Three classic marbles have been selected by Ann Sacks for Viana, each chosen for its rare beauty and robust to subtle colorations. The Viana designs are handcrafted by artisans, who hand clip each tile, then expertly lay the pieces out and hand-net them to form the larger mosaic. The irregular tiles are softly honed to bring out each marble’s veining and color variances. The artful compositions have remarkable depth and movement with a tactile, engaging surface that naturally reflects light as it travels across the surface.
Viana is offered in 1- and in. random-sized mosaics and three elegant marbles.
Calacatta Viola is a masterful interplay of dramatic to subtle veining in shades of violet, lilac and amethyst to deep burgundy with splashes of gold that ebb and flow across a cream field.
Truly a wonder of nature, Calacatta Verde features a backdrop of cream with robust veining, pooling and slight inclusions in soft to moss green that crackles across the surface in a random display.
Diana Royal is a new marble from Ann Sacks, its creamy colorations interspersed with wisps of light gray in a soft wash of color.
Viana is ideal for all wall and floor applications, including backsplashes, borders and shower walls, and naturally withstands high heat, making it an excellent choice for fireplace surrounds and behind-the-range installations. The collection is also suitable for the outdoors, depending upon climate and method of installation.
