LX Hausys Earns Three 2025 Product Innovation Awards

Published: December 13, 2025

LX Hausys America Inc. announced that three of its premium surfacing products — HIMACS Calacatta Albero, HIMACS Calacatta Costa and Viatera Taj Duna — have been selected as 2025 Product Innovation Award recipients by Architectural Products, I+s (Interiors + Sources) and Buildings magazines.

The Product Innovation Awards programs, presented by the three sister publications, honor innovative commercial interior and building products introduced between Dec. 1, 2022, and Dec. 1, 2025. Judged by experienced industry professionals, the awards recognize solutions that advance creativity, performance and impact in the built environment.

“These awards are a testament to our design, R&D and product development teams,” said Mike Morici, vice president of surfaces and channel management at LX Hausys. “They also underscore LX Hausys’ rich history of product design, and highlight our commitment to material innovation, aesthetic excellence and performance-driven solutions that support the evolving needs of architects, designers and building professionals.”

HIMACS Calacatta Albero was named a 2025 Product Innovation Award winner by Buildings. Inspired by the sunlit albero sand of Andalusia, the design features a creamy base with earthy-toned thin veins and subtle sweeping wide veins that create a warm and inviting aesthetic. A perfect selection for kitchen backsplashes and islands, bathroom vanities, tub surrounds and wall applications, its golden undertones are especially striking in spaces with abundant natural light. A solid surface, Calacatta Albero is also one of the first Calacatta designs made at LX Hausys’ state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Adairsville, Ga., and one of the first to feature both wide and thin veining.

HIMACS Calacatta Costa received a 2025 Product Innovation Award from Architectural Products. The product’s design captures the serene beauty of a seashore, where gentle waves create smooth and organic patterns in the sand. Its soft white base with gray veins of varying thicknesses brings natural elegance to interior spaces. As a solid surface, it is ideal for kitchen backsplashes and islands, bathroom vanities, shower walls and tub surrounds. Like the award-winning Calacatta Albero, Calacatta Costa is also one of the first Calacatta designs produced at the company’s Adairsville, Ga., facility and one of the first to incorporate both wide and thin veining.

Viatera Taj Duna was selected as a 2025 Product Innovation Award by I+s. Inspired by the timeless appeal of Taj Mahal quartzite, Taj Duna features warm, earthy tones and soft veining that create a luxurious and sophisticated look.

As part of the Quartzite Collection, it offers the delicate appearance of natural stone with the durability of a solid surface. Taj Duna is made with NeoQ, LX Hausys’ low-silica, next-generation quartz formulation that incorporates up to 90% recycled materials while maintaining high visual quality. It also features TrueView technology, which enhances realism with lifelike clarity and depth, and Thru Vein technology, a through-body innovation that carries the pattern consistently across the face and edges of the slab.

This combination elevates the natural appearance of the surface and represents a significant advancement in quartz design. Taj Duna is one of only two Viatera colors to include both TrueView and Thru Vein technologies, joining Crystallo Glace.
