At the urging of industry peers, Jeremy Jones, founder and creative director of Chamblee, Ga.-based Jones Design Associates, carved out the time to attend his first KBIS. “I had an amazing experience,” he tells KBB. “It was well worth the investment to see the latest and greatest products. And that had the residual benefit of re-inspiring myself and my team.”
Additionally, Jones found the many of the exhibitors’ booths to be a kind of style barometer, reinforcing a bold aesthetic. “Seeing them was a vindication of our own work,” he said. “As a cutting-edge design firm, we know we are where we should be.” Here are just a few of the highlights that caught the designer’s discerning eye.
L’Atelier Paris: I loved the flush grates on the gas ranges.
Monogram: The wall covering-wrapped appliance panels were a hit for Monogram.
Officine Gullo: Double faucets for the kitchen sink
Rev-A-Shelf: This is a drawer that dispenses and stores paper towel rolls – very popular at this year’s show.
True Residential: Olive green is their color of the year.
Art for Everyday: Tons of beautiful ready-made and customizable millwork
Zwilling: Love the grills, but the cabinet enamels are everything!
Brizo: New Beauclere Collection – malachite faucet knobs, yes please!
Elkay: One of the few brands with a 60-inch workstation sink
Karran: The removeable sink divider is amazing. New roll-out drain boards have slots big enough to hold cutting boards.
Now offering five or six wood finish options.
Native Trails: The glass art bowl is to die for.
Spezialist: LOVED the range that combines gas and induction
Schaub: Great knurled pocket door hardware – finally, pocket door hardware that doesn’t look cheap.
Ruvati: ALTO workstation laundry sink – loved it
TOTO: Showing more colorful vessels
