Artistic Tile has released its 2026 Luxury Surface Report, compiled data sourced from almost 40 interior designers across the country sharing their insights on the current landscape and future directions of the natural stone slab and tile industry.
As the new year approaches, upcoming trends and predictions are everywhere, and with this report, Artistic Tiles shares a succinct overview, full of interesting percentages, data points and many thoughtful quotes from designers.

Findings include:
- 81.1% of interior designers have increased their use of natural stone slabs over the past 10 years
- 75.7% of interior designers recommend natural stone slabs and tile to their clients
- Interior designers are most excited to see natural stone slabs and tile integrated into furniture.
- Pricing is the No. 1 attribute to using natural stone in a project, but a unique aesthetic is most commonly discussed by interior designers with their clients
- White remains the most popular color, but greens, blues, and beige/browns are close behind.
- Durability and maintenance are key factors when interior designers choose not to use natural stone slabs and tile.

“Natural materials aren’t going anywhere,” said designer Michele Plachter. “I think saturated color and unique patterns that feel authentic will continue to be the drive to curate special spaces for clients.”
