Officine Gullo Boston Showroom

Officine Gullo has opened a new showroom in Boston. The 1,000-sq.-ft. space is located inside a renovated 1899 brick building at 500 Harrison Avenue, home to the SoWa Art + Design Center, which is a destination for members of the local design community and many professionals in the industry.

Matteo Gullo, US managing director, explained the reason behind the location selection. “We chose Boston because we work with various interior designers in the area, where we have recently completed some splendid range projects as well as noting a growing interest in our collections,” he said. “We wanted to create an exclusive display window for our products, a boutique/showroom where we could meet with architects and clients, who could then see our products and our values directly for themselves.”

Alessio Annunziata, manager of the Boston showroom, tells KBB how he takes clients through the space. “The island installation really captures attention, so we begin there, reviewing all the cooking elements. Then we move to the stoves, a small Fiorentina model then a larger one. We end up sitting at a table made of a slab of olive wood. Each Officine Gullo showroom has one of those tables – it’s like bringing a part of Florence into the space. It’s a meaningful experience.”

Annunziata points out that the different wall treatments and architectural elements in the showroom help people visualize the appliances in both traditional and modern settings. The rough-textured brick walls and wooden beams and columns have historic authenticity, while white walls, fitted with a modernist grid of shelves that hold artworks and product literature, form a contemporary backdrop for the cookers.

This new space – the third in the United States, joining New York and Los Angeles – displays some of the more iconic products by the brand, including the stoves from the OG Professional and Fiorentina lines. The showroom is a place to get a better feel of the products made by Officine Gullo, as well as to explore the extensive catalogue of standard colors and metal finishes, together with the bespoke design options. Matteo Gullo said, “The Boston showroom will give clients a first-hand experience of the beauty of the metals we use on our ranges: fine materials with a traditional charm and superlative characteristics, which we use to bring to life timeless creations destined for America’s most prestigious, elegant homes.”
