Inspired by Nordic bathing rituals, the Kerid Collection from Victoria + Albert is designed for deep immersion rather than traditional bathing, as part of a home spa experience. Kerid can be used as a hot soaking tub for relaxation or a cold plunge tub to awaken the senses — a therapeutic experience that can be used indoors or outdoors.
The Kerid bath is shorter and higher than a conventional freestanding bath, at just 135cm long (15cm shorter than the brand’s range of compact baths) and 85cm high. The base of the bath has a seated end, allowing for a deeper submersion, making the bathtub ideal for both hot soaks and cold plunges. The elegant, angled rim creates a cradle for the neck and head. There is also a deep chamfer at the base of the bath, creating a ‘floating’ effect.
The Kerid collection includes the Kerid 43 basin, with a sleek circular design and chamfered base and the Kerid Step.
The vessel basin is a perfectly circular washbowl, designed for installing on a countertop or vanity unit. It shares its design DNA with the bath, with its sculpted rim and sharp chamfered base. With a diameter of 425mm, it will suit many bathrooms and cloakrooms, and it is a good match for Victoria + Albert’s Taizu, Vetralla and ios baths. It is available in standard gloss or luxurious standard matte finish. The basin can also be specified in a choice of more than 200 exterior colors from the RAL palette.
A dedicated Bath Step for the Kerid, its 175mm height makes it easier to get in and out of the bath, and it has six grooves running along the top to reduce the risk of slipping. The step follows the collection’s design language and is made from the same strong and durable Quarrycast material.
