Schiffini expands the boundaries of luxury outdoor living with the debut of the Sesta kitchen, a strategic project for high-end yachting.
There is a time that belongs solely to the sea, marked by shifting light and the scent of salt carried on the breeze. It is a time that measures things, reveals their quality and puts their durability to the test. It is within this realm that Schiffini rediscovers its most ancient horizon today, returning to the nautical world with a renewed perspective.
Its origin is rooted between land and sea in La Spezia, where in 1925 the brand took its first steps furnishing the naval sector. It was in this context that a design philosophy grounded in precision and resilience took shape — one destined to span the 20th century and redefine the very concept of living. This bond with the nautical world was never truly broken, and through its Marine division, Schiffini has tangibly renewed its historic relationship with the naval sector, collaborating over time with some of the most prestigious Italian and international shipyards to furnish kitchens aboard luxury yachts.
Today, more than a century after those origins, Schiffini has chosen to revive the pioneering spirit of 1925 and set sail once again with Sesta, the new kitchen designed for the nautical world, born from an initial collaboration with Sanlorenzo Shipyards and conceived as the gateway to a broader course in the sector.
The nautical environment, with its strict regulations, has always demanded millimeter-level design, including optimization of compact spaces, weather resistance and sturdiness under extreme conditions. It is these challenges, now tackled in the development of Sesta, that have shaped the brand’s approach since its inception.
The materials chosen for Sesta are the result of deep technical reflection, balancing sustainability and special water-repellent treatments to ensure absolute resistance to atmospheric agents and salinity.
Designed by Ballabeni & Catellani Studio in collaboration with the Schiffini Yacht Division, under the art direction of Marco Costanzi, the design shuns sharp edges. Sesta traces soft lines and smoothed profiles, conceived to follow the natural movements of navigation and create a flawless balance between design gesture and materiality. From the snack bar to the aluminum grab handles, the minimal aesthetic is enriched by meticulous attention to detail, shaping a space dedicated to conviviality — a place that, even out in the open sea, restores the deepest meaning of home.
Sesta’s journey also extends into the world of residential outdoor living. The kitchen is presented in a version tailored for all types of outdoor spaces, while keeping intact the principles of endurance, functionality and meticulous detailing that define the project. This new way of experiencing the outdoors, guided by the same essential and contemporary language.
With Sesta, Schiffini does not simply rediscover its century-old roots; it evolves their language, bringing more than a century of vision and timeless elegance out to sea on major high-end projects, qualities that have defined the history of Italian design.
