Portobello America announced the launch of Apalaches, a sophisticated porcelain collection inspired by the geological formations and organic character of Appalachian soapstone. Designed for use across residential and commercial applications, Apalaches translates the raw power of nature into a refined architectural language. Its stratified surface balances the emotional authenticity and depth of natural stone with the specification-ready precision of porcelain.
Apalaches is fundamentally about the relationship between material, light and space. The collection translates the geological depth into a sophisticated porcelain system where scale, texture and relief give designers the freedom to compose surfaces with intention. The collection is designed to feel quiet yet dimensional, allowing light and shadow to reveal the material and create spaces that feel both grounded and contemporary.
To support continuity across complex architectural designs, the collection provides designers with a comprehensive system of field tiles, dimensional reliefs and coordinating elements that maintain a cohesive visual language.
The collection is available in three subtle, balanced tones — off white, nude and rocha. Natural and exterior finishes allow the collection to move seamlessly from interior environments to outdoor applications. It is offered in large architectural sizes, as well as standard formats, a Intaglio 3D Relief and a mosaic.
Suitable for walls and floors, the Portobello America collection also includes a linear tile, coordinating bullnose and cove base to provide elegant solutions for architectural transitions, borders and feature moments.
