Osborne Wood Products has released new island leg designs featuring the traditional mission elements that have remained a popular furniture style for many years. The Tahoe Mission Island Leg and Sonora Mission Island Leg are exciting additions to Osborne’s line. These legs feature recognizable recessed centers with added turned elements separating the centers from the top and bottom blocks.
Two stylish profiles are now available for kitchen island, vanity or counter height table projects. An impressive take on the standard mission style, the Sonora Mission Island Leg (above left) is 34 1/2 inches tall and 3 1/2 inches wide. The design features a recessed center with curved edges at the top and bottom. It is separated from the top and bottom blocks by rounded elements which add the perfect amount of embellishment to the traditional profile. Both the top and bottom blocks have a six-inch height making this a versatile design that can accommodate shelves, table aprons, drawers and more.
The Tahoe Mission Island Leg (above right) features a standard mission design with recessed grooves in the square center; however, it has added decorative elements that make it stand out from other designs. The beads and coves that separate the center from the top and bottom blocks add impressive dimension to any project. This leg is 34 1/2 inches tall with each block measuring 6 3/8 inches. It has a 3 1/2 inch width and will easily support a large kitchen island or counter height table projects.
Both of these turned wooden leg designs are available in a wide range of unfinished wood species including paint grade and stain grade woods. Like all Osborne Wood wooden components, the legs are sanded to 150 grit and ready for finishing upon receipt.
