Opustone has introduced two new onyx slabs, Majestic White Alabaster Leather and Majestic Alabaster Leather. The white variation features delicate, web-like veining across a bright surface, while the darker counterpart offers bold beige shapes framed by deep brown veins in a more graphic composition. Both feature a leathered finish that softly diffuses light when backlit, emphasizing the stone’s natural luminosity.
Few natural stones are as extraordinary as onyx. Formed over thousands of years through mineral deposits, the material is prized for its intricate veining and natural translucency, allowing slabs to glow beautifully when backlit. Because it forms in very specific conditions, high-quality onyx is relatively rare, making it a favorite for statement surfaces.
With its ability to transmit light, onyx is often used in feature walls, vertical panels, fireplace surrounds, backsplashes and bar installations, where backlighting can transform the surface into a dramatic focal point.
These rare materials are available in limited quantities at Opustone’s showrooms.
