Linea Light Group presents Drift, a new collection of outdoor luminaires that redefines the relationship between light, architecture and surface.
Drift originates from a precise design approach: optics before form. The design process begins with the distribution of light in space and only afterwards moves to defining the structure and aesthetics. The result is a solution in which technology becomes invisible yet decisive, capable of sculpting light with precision and harmony.
Drift is an outdoor luminaire collection developed to deliver high-performance light distribution within a compact, essential form. The aluminum body features sharp volumes, precise proportions and a slender profile that enhances its discreet, architectural presence in the space.
At the heart of the project is Linea’s innovative recessed optical unit, designed to produce a wide and controlled emission — lateral and frontal light combine into a uniform projection capable of enhancing pathways, surfaces and architecture with precision and consistency. The shielded optical compartment ensures comfortable, glare-free emission with a BUG rating of 0, making it ideal for any type of setting.
Drift is available in two installation types — surface-mounted and bollard, the latter offered in three heights, 450, 750 and 1050 mm. The collection includes four color temperatures – 2200K, 2700K, 3000K and 4000K – allowing harmonious integration in both residential contexts and public spaces or natural environments.
In the surface-mounted version, Drift’s essential design is enhanced by four finishes: dark brown, black grey, brilliant grey and white. The bollard version is available in all finishes except white. Each element is designed to ensure visual continuity and long-term durability.
Drift’s innovative optical unit is engineered to provide wide lateral emission and uniform, controlled frontal projection. Light is distributed evenly, enhancing pathways and surfaces. The bollards ensure high visual comfort with a BUG rating of 0, achieved through the absence of glare and effective optical control.
The surface-mounted version, Drift_S, can be installed in various ways, allowing different lighting effects to be achieved with a reduced number of light points while maintaining high visual comfort.
Uplight installation ensures constant and uniform light emission across the entire ceiling surface. It is particularly effective in covered architectural settings, ensuring proper long-term durability. Step light installation provides high light distribution on the ground, both in the frontal and lateral directions. This offers an efficient solution for achieving high performance with a reduced number of luminaires
When ceiling-mounted, Drift generates uniform emission across the entire wall, enhancing vertical surfaces with a balanced light progression. When installed at ground level, it ensures uniform and controlled emission across the entire vertical surface, contributing to the architectural reading of façades.
