Lukas Novak developed the Spacey Collection for LASVIT using a 200-year-old glass-blowing technique known as lithyalin, which was developed in Novy Bor, a small town in Northern Bohemia.. Lithyalin creates a marbled surface, similar to an agate or semiprecious stone, but completely made of glass. Novak updated the traditional technique for a modern application, creating something like a spherical universe that captures Earth in all its glory.
The Spacey Collection features a futuristic light source that marries the craftsmanship and intricacies of the past with the modern aesthetic of the space age. Launched during Milan Design Week 2021, Spacey is available as the Eclipse Pendant, Supermoon Pendant or Table Lamp.
