Celebrating its 110th anniversary, La Cornue partnered with Parisian street artist Kongo (born Cyril Phan) to introduce La Cornue x Kongo, a collection of six La Cornue Château 150 models transformed into cosmopolitan masterpieces.
For his partnership with La Cornue, the artist swapped his linen canvases for six La Cornue Château 150 models and turned them into one-of-a-kind works of art inspired by his vision of the six distinct regions where La Cornue is sold: Paris, Europe, Asia, Australia, the Middle East and the United States. Each of the six limited-edition masterpieces boast dynamic use of color, curvature and precise design. From varying thicknesses of enamel crafted during several stages of firing, to flexible lines and intricate graphics designed from a stylus pen, Kongo made certain that this truly was a limited collaboration. To stamp his work, each masterpiece bears Kongo’s signature on the left-hand brand plate, with the year 2018 inscribed on the right-hand plate. The U.S. model is on display at the Middleby Residential showroom in the Chicago Merchandise Mart.
