Mademoiselle is Haute Déco‘s new collection of statement handles designed in homage to Coco Chanel. The designs feature a vibrant, multi-dimensional woven texture inspired by Chanel’s legendary bouclé fabric launched in 1953 when the iconic Parisian designer reopened her couture house after a 15-year break. Evolving from a classic Scottish tweed, the iconic bouclé fabric remains closely associated with rue Cambon’s couture house to this day. It is achieved by weaving the warp and weft, combining a variety of different threads in the weft to create a unique and somewhat irregular appearance.
Focusing exclusively on high-impact, statement handles, the Mademoiselle collection is made up of a small number of high-impact handles for entrance doors and cabinetry, each relating in some way to Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel’s designs and era. Made of solid bronze, each piece is mirror-polished to achieve a jewelry-grade sparkle, turning these handles into door jewelry. The collection is available in three finishes designed to complement its vibrant texture.
