Fontana Forni USA, which brings the Italian-made Fontana ovens to the U.S. market, announces the launch of Volta, a hybrid outdoor smart oven that brings true temperature control to residential outdoor cooking.
Until now, outdoor ovens have required continuous adjustment and hands-on monitoring. Volta changes that with a patent-pending electro-gas valve and smart control module, allowing users to set an exact cooking temperature and rely on the oven to reach and hold it automatically. The system electronically regulates gas flow to maintain steady heat, with full control available through both the oven’s touch display and connected app.
Volta is engineered as a true hybrid oven, designed to switch seamlessly between gas and wood without forfeiting cooking space. Unlike hybrid designs where the fire grate sits inside the cooking chamber and reduces usable deck area, Volta’s hybrid kit mounts above the burner, preserving the full cooking surface. This design allows users to move easily between everyday gas cooking and live-fire wood cooking in the same oven, without compromise.
Volta also features a higher-output burner system engineered to heat faster and recover temperature more quickly between cooks. The added power allows the oven to perform consistently even as the door opens or food is rotated, supporting back-to-back cooking without long recovery times. This performance makes Volta well suited for everything from high-heat pizza and flatbreads to roasting proteins, baking and longer cooks.

Designed and built in Italy, Volta is constructed using the same standards that define Fontana’s legacy, including a solid-welded stainless steel dome and a stone cooking surface engineered for long-term durability and heat retention. Its shallow depth allows the oven to sit directly on a standard-depth countertop or integrate seamlessly into a Fontana outdoor kitchen, making it easy to incorporate into a wide range of outdoor spaces.
Available in two sizes, Volta 70 with 480 square inches of cooking space and Volta 90 with 672 square inches, the series reflects Fontana’s belief that smart technology should make outdoor cooking more reliable and versatile, while preserving the craftsmanship and performance that serious cooks expect.
