Pòta! is a new lighting element created by Catellani & Smith that allows designers to imagine new shapes. Echoing the early Catellani & Smith creations, where lightness is the essence of volume, attractive metals are used to shape a structure able to convey energy. The result is a slender design inspired by function and conceived to be built by hand.
In the Pòta! series, light is the focal element around which slender, voluminous yet light structures take shape, and in which the lighting units are spread to create a contrasting interplay between order and disorder.
At Palazzetto Acqualunga, a private country residence located in Volta Mantovana, the Pòta! suspension lamp, custom-designed specifically for the project, becomes a striking presence that distributes light evenly along the entire vertical path, guiding the eye and movement through the different levels. The voluminous brass spheroidal structure of Pòta! houses 18 handmade light units that integrate modern LED filament technology, tracing a suspended map between precision and irregularity.
