Bosa Dornette Collection Tile

Italian ceramics workshop Bosa expands its Dornette Collection, featuring a decorative coating with a mix of tradition and modernity. The tiles are inspired by the infinite shapes of nature, with biomimetic results, in a unique cross-breeding between biology and technology. Made of fine ceramic, the elements are designed to give an upscale look to residential walls and beyond. Canyon and Cocoa, the first two projects in the collection, create an unexpected three-dimensional effect.

In 2025 Dornette collection expands with three designs by Elena Salmistraro:

Celestia
The name Celestia evokes the image of the stars and the sky, offering a symbolic and fascinating representation. But this tile goes beyond its decorative purpose. With its intricate beauty and distinctive hexagonal shape that is emphasized by the central pyramid for visual focus, it captures the attention and transmits a sense of harmony and equilibrium with sharp lines and defined angles. The small decorative spheres reminiscent of planets and celestial stars create an ornamental motif that give a sense of movement and fluidity to the whole design.

Enigma
The name Enigma refers to the peculiar feature of the design, which is based on reflection and symmetry. Just like an enigma, this pattern can be interpreted in many different ways according to the observer. The decorative tile Enigma, with its hexagonal shape, is presented as a canvas for a visual riddle. Thanks to its intricate game of symmetries and reflections, the abstract décor becomes a perception defying design. Moreover, the slight inclination gives it an effect that adds depth and a tri-dimensional appearance that may vary according to light and angle of observation.

Mariposa
Mariposa takes its name from the complex shapes and the dynamic movements of a butterfly’s wings. This tile embodies a timeless elegance that combines intricate forms and cultural homages in one single design. The object’s shape offers a nod to the famous tiles designed by Gio Ponti, that masterfully mixed empty and fuller spaces and overlaid rectangular and circle shapes. Mariposa’s unique visual effect captures the eye and stimulates the imagination. Its tri-dimensional décor adds width and character to any surface by conveying a strong contemporary connotation. Additionally, it reminds us of elements of Arabian architecture, evoking a sense of mystery and charm.
