Modular Lighting Instruments

The new Qbini spotlight allows for customization with two finish options, six shapes and four sizes.

Designed by Paris-based industrial designer Florent Coirier, Qbini is the smallest spotlight ever produced by Modular Lighting Instruments. Deriving inspiration from the shapes of children’s sorting boxes, Qbini allows you to customize your own fixture by offering two finish options, six shapes and four sizes. A portmanteau of ‘cubic’ and ‘mini,’ Qbini is a modular, recessed LED lighting solution that features patented press-in, press-out technology that makes installation simple—even in concrete ceilings, no screws required.

Qbini can be specified with or without a trim and comes in round or square shapes. Both options are available in 1x, 2x, 3x or 4x lamp configurations. Finishes are available in grained white, black or gold. Although Qbini is no more than 2 by 2 inches in size, its recently developed reflector produces a high light output. Available in 2700K, 3000K and 3500K, Qbini has a CRI of 92, and can achieve up to 100 lumens per watt. The fixture has an impressive 400 lumen output and exceptional color rendering. Beam angle options are medium and flood. Qbini also comes with accessories – honeycomb, crossblade or snoot – to create specific lighting effects.
