Drummonds’ Wye bateau bath is now available in a Burnished Copper finish, putting a final flourish at the end of the long series of artisanal processes used in the making of the brand’s cast iron baths. From the pouring of the molten iron to the dry-frit enameling, each bath takes several weeks to make – even before the bespoke finishing.
Now available to order on many of Drummonds‘ baths, the Burnished Copper finish is a craft process that begins with wrapping the bath exterior in sheet copper. The metal is then hand burnished with special rotating tools to create a characteristic luster. Finally, it is polished by hand and then lacquered to preserve the characterful warmth and gleam of the copper.
