Ames extends its CIRCO furniture series with new flowerpots available in three sizes and four colorways. Additionally, the dining chair and the lounge chair are now available in a leather version in two colorways. Ames also continues its collaboration with Nya Nordiska and presents new cushions for the CIRCO seating furniture, boasting covers made from outdoor RIMINI fabric.
Designer Sebastian Herkner took his inspiration for the CIRCO furniture series from the longstanding tradition of Colombian traveling circuses. Paying homage to objects and shapes found in the circus, Herkner created the CIRCO range of furniture, boasting bases that are reminiscent of the stools on which circus elephants put their feet. Using powder-coated tubular steel and colorful synthetic weave, CIRCO is handcrafted for Ames by Colombian artesanos working in a small manufactory. The special colors for the recycled plastic are created using specially developed dyes whose production takes several weeks. Together with the stool-like bases, these qualities make CIRCO an unconventional range of products that reflects Colombian joie de vivre and showcases the country’s traditional crafts CIRCO can be used indoors and outdoors.
