AHF Products has introduced new Quiet Comfort underlayment collections for Armstrong Flooring resilient, laminate and hardwood flooring and Bruce hardwood and laminate flooring, expanding its portfolio of installation accessories with solutions designed to address varying project requirements.
The collections give flooring dealers and installers options for moisture protection, sound reduction, comfort underfoot and compression stability across residential, multifamily and select light commercial applications.
Armstrong Flooring Quiet Comfort for Resilient Flooring
The Armstrong Flooring collection includes three solutions.
Quiet Comfort Shield is a 6-mil polyethylene moisture barrier designed to help protect installations from moisture vapor migrating through concrete slabs and includes lip and tape. The Class I vapor barrier is designed for loose-lay LVT/LVP, rigid core, HDPC, hybrid resilient flooring and laminate, as well as nail-down and floating hardwood applications.
Quiet Comfort Sound Control is a 1-mm cross-linked polypropylene foam providing footfall noise reduction, reduced sound transmission and a built-in moisture barrier that resists mold and mildew. It is designed for LVT/LVP 3.2 mm or greater and non-grouted engineered stone installations. The product is FloorScore Certified and provides IIC 52/STC 51 performance on 6-in. concrete.
Quiet Comfort Flex Pro combines high-density polyurethane foam with post-consumer granular rubber tile to provide sound reduction, moisture protection, and compression stability. The Greenguard Certified1.2mm product contains recycled content and is designed for applications including LVT, rigid core, hybrid resilient flooring, laminate and engineered stone. It provides IIC 62/STC 61 performance on 6-in. concrete with ceiling.
Bruce Quiet Comfort for Hardwood Flooring
The Bruce collection includes three solutions designed for hardwood and laminate installations.
Quiet Comfort RackReady is a Class II moisture vapor retarder made with 30/30/30 asphalt-laminate Grade B kraft paper for nail-down and floating hardwood applications.
Quiet Comfort MultiGuard is a high-performance EVA foam designed to provide sound reduction, moisture protection and comfort underfoot. The Greenguard Certified product is mold and mildew resistant.
Quiet Comfort SoundMax is a 2-mm polypropylene foam designed to reduce sound transmission, provide moisture protection, smooth minor subfloor imperfections and add comfort underfoot. It is FloorScore Certified and suitable for laminate and engineered hardwood, including floating and double glue-down installations. It provides IIC 66/STC 62 performance on 6-in. concrete with ceiling.
