Abimis AlterEgo Sideboard

The new AlterEgo with Cipollino marble doors from Abimis combines bespoke stainless-steel craftsmanship with the precious appeal of natural stone, striking a new balance between design research, material, function and its decorative intent.

Designed by Alberto Torsello, AlterEgo originated as an extension of the Ego kitchen. It adopts aesthetic codes inspired by 1950s design and translates them into an extra storage system that expands the compositional possibilities of both domestic and contract environments.

The AlterEgo doors, now also available in Cipollino marble or other natural stones, enrich the collection alongside versions in various wood finishes. All configurations are paired with a structure made entirely of stainless steel, orbitally polished by hand or with a mirror-polished finish for an elegant and customizable result.

AlterEgo interprets the perfect synergy between the technical, professional soul of Abimis and the refined aesthetics of designer furniture, fitting naturally into both open-plan kitchens and living spaces.

The hallmark of this sideboard are the bevelled flush doors with pivot hinges, framed by an AISI 304 stainless-steel structure with a recessed plinth, which recalls the formal language of the Ego line and reinforces its stylistic continuity. The circular design of the stainless steel handles is a distinctive signature of the project: functional elements that turn into decorative details.

The new Cipollino marble doors further highlight the impeccable design of the sideboard, transforming it into a signature piece. The natural veining of the marble creates a three-dimensional effect that captures the surrounding space and ensures every AlterEgo is different from the next, lending it a sculptural character.

AlterEgo confirms the Abimis production approach, defined by a balance between impeccable craftsmanship and industrial precision, offering a furnishing element that brings together functionality, aesthetics and construction quality. Designed to liaise with the Ego kitchen, it also stands out as a solo piece thanks to its strong personality and textured presence.
