LG Hausys America has named Bongsoo Kim as its new president. Kim joined LG in 2007, when he was hired as Vice President of the holding company LG Corp. Most recently, he served as Vice President of the LG Hausys, Ltd. global business department, a position he held since January 2011. Kim will succeed Simon Hong, who had a 31-year career with LG.
“I’m honored to take the reins and lead the company into the New Year,” said Kim. “LG Hausys is well positioned to continue steadfast growth in the North American market. My goal is to gain further momentum by optimizing company operations at the individual, team and division levels.”
In 2011, LG Hausys opened a Viatera quartz manufacturing plant just outside of Atlanta, GA. The facility sits adjacent to the company’s first U.S.-based facility, which opened in 2005. “Our goal is to become a dominant player in the North American surfaces market,” said Kim.
