Canyon Creek Cabinet Company was selected to receive the Operational Excellence award from the Association of Washington Business Institute (AWBI) during its annual Manufacturing Summit earlier this month.
This year’s awards program recognized a diverse sector of four manufacturers – from a craft distiller to a cabinet maker – for outstanding contributions to innovation, environmental excellence and operational improvements that lead to healthy, rewarding and successful workplaces.
During the last five years, Canyon Creek has implemented and upgraded to the latest equipment and production technology focused on standardizing and improving manufacturing production processes. This has eliminated redundancies and variances in its cabinet parts and has provided customers with consistent, dependable and quality products.
“Canyon Creek has an ongoing lean process improvement program and adopts efficiency strategies and sustainable manufacturing processes whenever possible,” said Robert Foote, Canyon Creek president & CEO. “The small improvements that we continually make will lend themselves to a more efficient operation over time. But we’re also capable of making larger, step-change improvements, such as our new frameless production area, which represents a dramatic improvement in capacity, quality and efficiency.”
