The world’s premier destination for home furnishings just got brighter with the grand opening of the WAC Group’s combined showroom for luxury lighting powerhouses Schonbek and Modern Forms at the High Point Market marks a striking new chapter in contemporary lighting design.
Melding centuries-old crystal craftsmanship with cutting-edge modern innovation, this dual-brand space is more than just a showroom—it’s an immersive design experience. The new showroom spans more than 10,000 square feet in Suite H327 on the third floor of the International Home Furnishings Center (IHFC).
From the moment guests step into the space, they are enveloped in a glow of elegance. Gleaming chandeliers, dripping with hand-cut crystal, shimmer alongside sculptural LED pieces, suspended like functional works of art. In every direction, the light refracts off carefully layered surfaces, creating an atmosphere both warm and avant-garde.
One of the most striking aspects of the space is the interior design. Floor-to-ceiling ivory drapery, pristine white walls, textured wallpaper and light European oak flooring serve as the perfect canvas to highlight the opulence of each fixture. The gallery-style arrangement of chandeliers, pendants and sconces allows every piece to shine individually, yet together they form a cohesive celebration of craftsmanship and design. Plinths and pedestal displays—strategically spaced—elevate the presentation, quite literally, placing the lighting at eye level for maximum visual impact.
A show-stopping modern blue bar anchors the showroom, with curved barstools wrapped in ocean-colored velvet sitting under a polished creamy stone marble bartop. Accented with dramatic floral arrangements and framed by walls of blue porcelain and mirror, the bar is not only functional—it’s photogenic. It became an instant gathering point during the opening celebration, where design professionals mingled beneath cascading custom crystal installations that sparkled like constellations.
Modern Forms’ sleek, sculptural LED rings and geometrically driven pendant designs form a dynamic contrast to Schonbek’s heritage crystal chandeliers. From moody, blacked-out chandeliers to golden orbs and cascading prisms, the lighting on display is both dramatic and diverse, appealing to both traditionalists and modernists alike.
The new High Point Market showroom offers innovation in lighting presentation and demonstrates how modern design can coexist with timeless elegance.
