At last week’s KBIS 2019, Samsung showed a huge presence with its 11,200-sq.-ft. booth – an 8,000 sq.-ft. increase over previous years. The exhibit was designed to display the company’s support of the building industry’s success this year and into the future, as well as its newest product offering. It even won the Best in Show award for the KBIS 2019 Best Booth Awards (see above photo).
“We significantly expanded our presence at KBIS to underscore our investment in the U.S. homebuilder industry,” said Tom Halford, vice president of premium and builder brands for Samsung. “Attendees were able to explore various aspects of Samsung’s offering throughout the booth, including a connected living environment that highlighted the company’s growing eco-system of smart home innovations.”
Getting Smart
In terms of technology and smart home options being integrated into the home, Halford said the company has found that 60 percent of homebuyers would pay more for smart home technology, and 84 percent of renters would pay more for a smart apartment.
“To adapt to the needs of our consumers, in 2019 Samsung is bringing the smart home down to earth,” he added. “We are making connectivity and personalization easier than ever with our new line of connected appliances that help consumers live a more seamless and simple life. The end result is utilizing technology to improve their everyday lives in a meaningful way.”
Tools & Incentives for Success
The company also presents a Friends and Family affinity program where homeowners have the opportunity to purchase a full suite of Samsung consumer electronics at a discount.
“Builders also receive incentives on the electronics their homebuyers purchase through the program,” said Halford. “Samsung works with builders to provide the best experience to consumers while making it easier for them to deliver it. We also offer things like a national distribution network, service support pre and post close and warranty programs.”
To broaden its builder presence in key U.S. markets, Samsung recently opened Home Showcase Showrooms in two leading home-building markets, Atlanta and Dallas. The showrooms are designed to give builders, designers and distributors the tools, insights and products to help take their businesses to the next level.
“With our global reach, deep category experience and investment in R & D, no one knows the market better than Samsung. We help builders convert prospects into closings while setting them up for long-term success.”
