At BDNY 2025, we noticed a few design trends taking root among the 700+ exhibitors. Of note:
- Color is shifting away from bright hues to saturated yet muted tones
- Texture and dimension are supplementing – but not supplanting – pattern
- Metal is the material of the moment, integrated into tile and textiles

A collaboration between designer Alison Rose and Artistic Tile, Artifact draws inspiration from ancient Roman mosaics. In her signature style, Rose infuses a historic pattern with a modern sensibility, evoking a timeless aesthetic. Two introductions from Duravit at BDNY: The new Qatego Two-Piece Toilet cast model is the latest addition to the award-winning Studio F.A. Porsche series and the first new North American-produced ceramic product made with carbon-neutral hydropowered electric roller kilns. ¶ Designed by Philippe Starck, Tulum bath fittings combine a conical body and rectangular spout. In its BDNY debut, Fantini exhibited the Flora fittings. Created by Vincent Van Duysen, the temptingly tactile collection is offered in eight finishes: Chrome (which the designer pegs as the next hot finish), Matte Black, Polished Nickel PVD, Matte Gun Metal PVD, Matte British Gold PVD, Matte Copper PVD, Pure Brass PVD and Raw Metal PVD. fantini.it

Fireclay previewed its Bath enterprise – and won a Best of Show award in the process. Applying their expertise in tile crafting to fittings, they offer customized ceramic knob handles across four plumbing collections, encompassing 16 metal finishes and 16 ceramic knob glazes. Designed to be mixed across collections and paired with matching bath accessories, the line invites designers to create truly personalized spaces. fireclaytile.com

Like vintage furniture with mixed hardware, this character-driven vanity by Amber Lewis for Four Hands is topped with Italian Carrara marble with classic detailing. At BDNY, Infinity Drain highlighted its Disco-Rectangle linear drain. With a contoured, organic aesthetic, the design moves away from sharp angles while maintaining structural integrity and performance. The Terrae collection by Mirage, designed with AMDL CIRCLE, transforms ceramics into a theater of shapes, light and textures that narrate the harmonious encounter between natural elements and human creativity.
