Kips Bay Decorator Show House New York Announces Location

Published: August 10, 2025

The Kips Bay Decorator Show House, the design event benefiting the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club, is set to mark a major milestone this fall as it celebrates the 50th edition of its celebrated New York Show House. Open to the public for three weeks beginning Sept. 30, 2025, this year’s event will take place at 20 West 12th Street, a grand Gold Coast mansion in the heart of Greenwich Village.

During the last five decades, the show house has featured the work of more than 800 of the most celebrated interior designers, and this year’s location is the perfect canvas for its golden anniversary — a 9,000-sq.-ft. turn-of-the-century brick and stone residence with soaring 13-ft. ceilings, seven wood-burning fireplaces, eight bedrooms, nine bathrooms and a private garden.

Built in 1900, the home retains much of its original architectural character with the addition of modern amenities, including an Otis elevator. The property has distinct living spaces across six levels including a breathtaking conservatory great room, parlor floor suite and multiple private terraces. As the show house makes its annual return to New York, this location will be both a tribute to the event’s design legacy and a powerful platform to support critical programming for the city’s youth.

“For 50 years, the Kips Bay Decorator Show House has brought together the most creative minds in design to support the vital mission of the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club,” said James Druckman, president of the Board of the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club. “We’re especially proud to mark our anniversary in the heart of Greenwich Village, at a location that perfectly reflects the grandeur and history of New York. It’s a powerful reminder of what our community can achieve together.”

Originally opening to the public in 1973, the show house has showcased remarkable interior design by transforming a luxury Manhattan property into an elegant exhibition of extraordinary designs with fine furnishings, art, and technology, which has raised more than $30 million for more than 11,000 New York City children. The Kips Bay Decorator Show House has since opened additional locations in Palm Beach, Fla., and Dallas.
