INOX Wins Hardware Category at NYCxDESIGN Awards

Published: July 2, 2019

INOX, creator of decorative hardware and door locks for more than 25 years, is proud to announce that its new CeraMax Rainbeaux ceramic-coated door hardware earned top honors in the prestigious 2019 NYCxDESIGN Awards competition.

The NYCxDESIGN awards were presented by Interior Design magazine and the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) in New York City to celebrate outstanding achievement across major areas of design—from architecture to interiors, products to accessories and craft to technology. More than 900 entries were received for this year’s competition, and CeraMax Rainbeaux won the entire hardware category.

“We are very honored to win this award, especially since CeraMax Rainbeaux was created by INOX to fill a need that designers and trade professionals were asking for, and now we have been recognized by that same community,” said Jeff Howes, president of INOX.

CeraMax is a customizable finish option that prevents deterioration due to harsh environments, including salt spray, oxidation, humidity and ultraviolet light. CeraMax is resistant to most solvents and chemicals, providing a high level of hardness and adhesion while also offering a beautiful finish in a multitude of optional colors to enhance décor. It withstands the ASTM B117 Salt Spray Corrosion test (used to evaluate the relative corrosion resistance to salt spray or fog at elevated temperatures) up to 85 times longer than stainless steel and can face extreme exposure to high humidity and ultraviolet light for up to 5750 hours with no yellowing or loss of luster.

Each piece of hardware is finished by hand and the process includes sand blasting, ultrasonic and high-pressure air cleaning, and baking in a finishing chamber—all performed under clean-room conditions. The CeraMax line with color customization is available as a premium option for all INOX products.
