Huntwood Cabinets recently announced the winners of its 2023 Design Contest. Open to all Huntwood kitchen designers and direct reps, the competition asked participants to submit a short project bio, project photos, a floor plan and an overall cost breakdown.
This year’s First Place winner is Cathy Jepson of Seattle. In this winning project, frameless construction black walnut and the Napoli door style were used for the cabinetry in this stunning remodel, infusing the space with mid-century style and warmth. Walls were removed in the kitchen, allowing for an open flow and views of Puget Sound.
Jepson designed a window seat for reading and accommodating areas for the homeowner’s cats. In the living room, the old fireplace was reconfigured to house an electric insert, with open shelving completing the look.
The Second Place winner (pictured) Dean Boerigter, AKBD, also of Seattle, also chose frameless construction and the Napoli door style in black walnut but used terra as the color. Justin Stanton of Kennewich, Washington, the Third Place winner, selected the Somerset door style in colonial white and included an alder island in ridgestone stain. Amanda Helfer of Spokane earned an Honorable Mention award for use of the Cimarron door style in hickory with the oasis colorway.
