Zephyr
has announced the winners of its 2010 “Inspire My Kitchen Design Contest,” which brought together culinary aficionados, homeowners and professional designers.
To enter, contestants submitted digital photos and a brief narrative describing their kitchen’s design. After thousands of users elected their top five kitchens, Zephyr’s panel of judges—including artist Fu-Tung Cheng, industrial designer Robert Brunner, and chef Tom Hurley—evaluated the contestants. Points were awarded based on materials, aesthetics, utility and which kitchen one would most enjoy entertaining guests in.
Preston and Katie Roper, of Los Altos Hills, CA, won the homeowner Dream Dinner grand prize, which included a hands-on cooking class and a dinner for 16 prepared by chef Tom Hurley. Additionally, three kitchen designers won cash prizes, with Dana Jones from Long Beach, CA, taking home the grand prize of $10,000 for excellent kitchen design using a Zephyr range hood.
Zephyr will kick off the 2011 “Inspire My Kitchen Design Contest” with submissions accepted in March 2011, and winners announced on October 14, 2011. To learn more, click here
