Winnelson and TOTO Partner in Tornado Relief Project

Published: December 2, 2013

Oklahoma City Winnelson and TOTO USA are partnering to make high-performance bathroom fixtures available for more than 2,000 families trying to rebuild their homes in the Moore, Shawnee and El Reno, Okla., areas that were affected by tornados in May 2013.

TOTO has provided the fixtures for the humanitarian project and shipped them directly to Oklahoma City Winnelson with RoadOne IntermodaLogistics providing support. Oklahoma City Winnelson is providing long-term storage for the three containers that house the products as well as assistance distributing them.

“Our hearts go out to the victims of May’s devastating tornados,” said Bill Strang, president of operations for the Americas, TOTO USA. “We wanted to aid our friends and neighbors in Oklahoma with their long-term recovery process, so we sent three 40-ft. container trucks laden with our beautiful designs that offer superior performance – toilets, faucets, showers and accessories – to help families in these communities rebuild their homes.”

Other organizations assisting the TOTO and Oklahoma City Winnelson effort include the American Red Cross, Salvation Army, Catholic Charities, Society of St. Vincent de Paul, the Oklahoma United Methodist Church, United Way of Central Oklahoma and the Oklahoma Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster.
